Edge Plain (Conder p.101, 253; Atkins p. 118, 448a; D&H Middlesex 583a)
From a late state of the obverse and reverse dies. Very choice uncirculated with a substantial amount of original color remaining, especially on the reverse. Scarce. 13.29gm
While this die pair is listed by D&H as coming on lettered and plain edges it is unclear if this is so. Often the COVENTRY EDGE is very lightly applied, sometimes almost invisible. This specimen may have the ghost of the outline of a pair of letters but, perhaps not.
