A bit softly struck up per usual, and from the late state of the reverse die. Choice uncirculated with a fair amount of color remaining.

John Palmer, (1742-1818) comptroller general of the Post Office (dismissed in 1793). He introduced the first mail coaches in England in 1784 with routes from London to Bath and Bristol.
